…and the sad reality is this, when they have won their last ribbon or are so horribly crippled from the abuse, they are sent to your local auction house, bought by kill buyers, then shipped to slaughter (30+ hours, crammed in livestock trailers meant for short necked cows, no food or water). 169,000 were shipped in 2013 into Canada and Mexico and included your Wild Horses that you send your hard earned money to Washington via taxes to protect under the 1971 Wild Horse and Burro Act. Keep up the pressure because without you and your mighty voice, they are all doomed to a cruel and inhumane fate. Do your Due Diligence by searching for “horse slaughter” and join in this fight! Learn everything you can about this issue and fight back, for them, for those with no voice, no hope, no future.

We do not usually publish OpEd pieces on our website. However the “hub bub” over a recent article by journalist Dave Phillips in the NYTimes has spurred a huge outcry in social media by wild horse advocates. We did send this to the Times (and they will not publish if a piece is published elsewhere).
